Should be a bit heavier to balance with the IPad that to fall in front.

Works great connected to Apple IPad no problem

I love this case. It’s a much better price than the IPad Magic Case. No complaints.
Sturgis
Really good alternative to the more expensive Apple brand. Solid and unlike the backlit keys and the ability to change color too.
jonathan
iPad magnet locks secure. Easy to open and keyboard turns itself off when not in use to save battery. Great investment for a mobile iPad.
Jonus
This case works beautifully, connect easily, and was my cheaper than an Apple branded device, with no less features.

After about 5 months of pristine and clean use. My keyboard stopped workings I reached out to tech support to look for some answers and they gave me nothing. Waste of money. I need this for school and it is useless to me.
Edit*
I have fixed my one star to 5!!! The customer service was impeccable. They replaced my keyboard free of charge and it shipped in two days, just in time for school!

Makes it feel like a laptop

Works great. I like it as much as the original apple keyboard. I like the fact that you can select the back lighting color of the keyboard itself. While it’s thicker than the Apple keyboard, it offers the same protection if not more. The choice of colors available add to the look of the keyboard. It was definitely worth the price for this keyboard. It is a quality product. The magnetic clasp keeps it pretty secure.

nice keyboard with back lighting

I had a problem with my case for my iPad 13pro. I emailed and called someone I could easily communicate with suggested solutions which we communicated about and I tried. Non worked and after a few trials they without any asking they said they would replace the unit, no charge. It arrived brand new. Works perfectly. Thank you so much. Highly recommend company as problems dealt with immediately with no trying to get out of fixing the problem
Jerika Galang
Amazing product and even better customer service! I reached out about an issue, and they immediately sent me a replacement without any hassle.

Me encantó! Me permite tener versatilidad con mi Ipad

This is a desktop only type of thing. I didn't realize when I bought it that it didn't flip over entirely. It can only be used like it shows, so if you're looking for a case that can lay flat for use on the go, keep looking. I still give it 4 stars because it is well built, functions properly, and has strong magnets. Excellent for using at my office or at a table, but not so much when I'm mobile.
Sam Lisner
It’s a beautiful, high quality material case. Easy to connect and works perfectly. After a few days, I broke a key in the keyboard, and they , without any questions asked, offered to send a replacement. Incredible customer service and incredible product, would highly recommend.

Love it! Perfect color and keyboard has so many color options

Pretty and very responsive I find it heavy and since I. Use it with my iPad Pro my iPad Pro battery don't last I put my iPad out of the keyboard case and again my iPad Pro battery last more. Don't know if is something I have to do for the battery last longer. I do love the keyboard, color, response, protection

With this magic keyboard and my iPad, I have my laptop. Works like a breeze. Ideal, at least for me.
Weight is normal, and quality, fit, size, functionality are excellent. Highly recommend.

Me encanta mi funda para iPad . Tiene una calidad excelente y sobre cumplió mis expectativas .

So far okay. I bought this case because the ai told me through reviews that this was light weight. Yeah im not sure where that comes from, this case isn't something id review as light weight.
Weight:
Heavier than id like.

I love this keyboard I’ve had it a while now and no issues just charge it up and use it the keys don’t stick and just is comfortable while using

Works great. I have an iPad 13 pro and it connects well and works great. The mouse is a little circle on the screen that’s meh kinda frustrating but I can deal with that. Charges fast.

Fantastic product!
I have two of these. One for my iPad Pro 2020 model and one for the new pro with the
M4 chip.
I am not paid by Typecase or Amazon. These are my true thoughts.
The following applies to both keyboards:
I’m a broker that needs a reliable platform on the go. This keyboard protects, is responsive to the touch, has multicolored backlighting and has a special slide through compartment for your Apple Pencil that still allows a charge. It’s been the most reliable and stylish keyboard combo I’ve owned yet, and vastly exceeding my expectations for quality and appearance. Zero issues thus far with either of the cases.
Don’t hesitate. It’s a high quality accessory that will exceed your expectations.
Hope this helps.

I love this keyboard. It bets the apple product out the water more affordable. Lasting battery i love that it changes colors. Magnetic case its lasting and durable best purchase. I would definitely recommend i do have a babie MacBook.

Absolutely love it, it’s super thin and weighs nothing. I really wanted a thin keyboard to make my iPad Pro super portable and light weight, it feels super high quality well made does a good job keeping the iPad up . Highly recommend . Touchpad works great too
Jennifer A.
I absolutely love this keyboard it's definitely worth it. The quiality of it is super sturdy but keeps in mind you can't use a case in your iPad when it's on the keyboard. The lights are so cool and the keys feel so nice and the touch pad is very good as wel. I definitely recommend if you need a good keyboard it's like a mini Mac book but cheaper

Muy buen producto

Edit: I raised the stars to 4 because the sellers sent a new keyboard to hopefully remedy the lag. They also provided a thin case that allows for portrait mode which was very much appreciated. Overall, for the price, this is the best bang for the buck compared to anything else on the market but compared to a laptop, the trackpad is still a bit laggy. The keyboard sleeps fairly quickly and does have some palm tap issues when typing which can minimize your open applications and even lock the screen if your cursor is in the right spot. A bit of an annoyance, but again, best bang for the buck. To make yourself a highly portable touchscreen device but still maintain a full keyboard, this is the best option without breaking the bank.
It’s good but sleeps pretty quickly and the trackpad lags. The magnets hold very strongly but it also doesn’t support portrait mode. With those limitations I think i should’ve sprung for the Logitech or apple.
D-Ray
Really nice IPad case with a great keyboard. Ordered another one for my brother in law. Good stuff!

Works as described.
I like all the features in the product description.
I can sit the ipad on my lap and create digital content while the room is quiet and it is dark outside. While Claude AI is busy putting my many small pieces of prompts together, I can leave the iPad upright on the keyboard while I shower and get ready for the day. This keyboard-touchpad combo and iPad holder meets my needs almost perfectly.
I deducted a star because the problem is when using Claude AI, I cannot scroll down to read the Artifact using the touchpad or page keys.
I had to send the Artifact as a Note and read the Arrifact as a Note. This action wasted time and defeated the purpose of having a keyboard with a built-in mousepad. I would appreciate the design team correcting this design flaw because we are in a new technological age using new software tools.
I use this item to read from my iPad. I sit it to the side when streaming video. I noticed that if I tilt the iPad a little too much, the entire setup tips over and often times the iPad falls off. There’s not enough weight on the keyboard to keep the bottom part stable.
But wait! If I touch the iPad surface, I get a scrollbar and can scroll up and down. The reality is that I am spoiled. I’ve learned to use the touch pad on a laptop. I deducted a point.
Because this keyboard is specific to this version of iPad, I’d like to see this statement about how to scroll in the product photos at the top of the Amazon page that says we may need to touch the screen to scroll. To be clear, I have not found a way to scroll when there is a screen inside a screen.
I have just now figured out a key to using this keyboard.
I didn't deduct another point, but I’ve learned: Don’t adjust the angle of the iPad by grabbing the bottom or the I pad will suddenly fall off and drop hard.
The safe place to tilt is about 3 inches from the bottom.
Would I purchase this product again? Now that I know how to use it, yes.
Would I recommend this product to friends and family? Maybe. I think kids would adapt to the quirks faster and would love selecting colors of the keyboard. Perhaps I have a taller body and need the iPad to have a strong tilt without flipping over. For petite people and kids this product is a definite yes. It would make a thoughtful gift. Be sure you know exactly the size of the intended iPad. Happy shopping!
Cynthia Carr
As is works very good with my tablet. Only thing I wished it to be able to lean back a little more. Otherwise perfect. Love . I got the color purple.
Fran M
El teclado es de muy buena calidad por el precio y comaparandolo con el original de Apple que cuesta 300 dolares
Next door neighbor
I was thinking about connecting a keyboard to my iPad Pro, and when this keyboard case in light purple came my way, I was excited! One thing I was looking for is a case that allows the pen to stay attached at the top of the iPad without forcing it into a built-in slot in the frame of the case, and this keyboard case delivers. The case is sturdy and a bit weighty. You can use it in your lap, but it will only tip back so far, so resist the urge to force it. The keys and trackpad are responsive, and it’s a great option for those who find the Apple keyboard pricey and boring.

The magnetic stand is strong and easy to adjust, holding the iPad in place securely at just the right angle. The keys feel responsive and comfortable for typing, and the 11-color backlighting adds a nice touch, especially when working in low light.
The trackpad is impressively smooth and responsive, making multitasking feel more like a MacBook experience. It even includes a built-in pencil holder and a secure magnetic clasp to keep everything tidy and protected. The carbon fiber-style finish adds a sleek, premium look without adding bulk, making it ideal for mobile work.
✅ Pros
-Solid magnetic stand with easy angle adjustments
-Responsive keyboard with customizable backlight colors

I was worried about the keyboard not staying bluetooth. It has never unhooked itself. It stays charged for long periods of time. I love the lighted keyboard helps me see the keys. Def would buy again. Worth the price versus and apple.

The ipad can easily break free of the keyboard so care must be taken when carrying the keyboard with ipad. Otherwise much more feature laden than my gen 2 ipad+keyboard. Build quality excellent, many features, works great. When the iPad is open and attached to the keyboard, the keyboard sharp edges can cut your finger. I am putting tape on the keyboard edges to prevent further cuts.

I recently upgraded to the Typecase Keyboard Case for my new iPad Pro 13-inch (M4, 2024), and wow, what a difference it makes! This case transforms my iPad into a sleek, lightweight laptop in seconds, making it perfect for both workdays and creative sessions. Right away, I noticed how sturdy and premium it feels, with a strong magnetic clasp that keeps everything securely in place, plus a handy spot for my Apple Pencil. It’s slim enough to stay portable, but rugged enough to protect my device from bumps and scrapes.
One of my favorite features has to be the 11-color backlit keyboard. Whether I'm working late at night or sitting in a bright café, the adjustable backlighting and brightness levels make typing easy and comfortable. The keys feel responsive and solid, and the full-area multi-touch trackpad is smooth and precise, giving me laptop-like control without missing a beat. It’s amazing how much more productive I feel with all the iPadOS shortcuts right at my fingertips too!
The floating cantilever stand is another standout — it allows for easy angle adjustments so I can find the perfect viewing position whether I'm typing, watching videos, or sketching. Plus, the instant wake/sleep feature is super convenient, saving battery life and making the whole experience feel seamless and intuitive.
If you’re looking to get the most out of your iPad Pro 13-inch (M4), this Typecase Keyboard Case is a total no-brainer. It nails the balance of style, function, and protection, turning your iPad into a true powerhouse while keeping it safe and portable. I honestly can't imagine using my iPad without it now!

The Typecase Edge keyboard case has altered and elevated the way I use my iPad Pro M4. The magnetic clasp feels secure, giving me confidence that both my iPad Pro and Apple Penci l remain firmly attached. What I appreciate most is the slim and lightweight design, which makes the tablet secure and easy to transport as a set. The floating cantilever design lets me easily adjust the viewing angle, making everything from typing to streaming feel ergonomic and natural.
The keyboard is a joy to use. The full-area trackpad simplifies navigation, while the 11-color backlit keys add style and functionality. Whether I am working late or catching up on tasks during the day, the adjustable brightness ensures clarity in any lighting. This case transforms my iPad into a sleek laptop-like device that fits perfectly into my daily routine, enhancing my productivity without sacrificing the iPad’s usability or style.
Thanks, AMAZON!

PRO(S):
- Affordable Alternative: This case provides many features found in higher-priced options.
- Customizable Backlit Keyboard: With 11 backlight colors and three brightness levels, users can personalize their typing experience..
- Multi-Touch Trackpad: The full-area trackpad supports tap-to-click and gesture controls.
- Versatile Viewing Angles: The floating cantilever design allows for easy adjustment to preferred viewing angles.
- Comprehensive Protection: The case offers full front and back coverage.
CON(S)
- Bluetooth Connectivity: Unlike Apple's Magic Keyboard, which uses the Smart Connector, this case relies on Bluetooth, requiring manual pairing and charging, which I didn't like as much as the Apple product.
- Trackpad Sensitivity: This is where I noticed the biggest difference between the Apple product and this one. This trackpad feels less responsive and has a "mushy" click compared to Apple's offering.
- Increased Bulk: The case adds noticeable thickness and weight to the iPad, which might affect portability for some users.
Overall, while it may not match the seamless integration and premium feel of Apple's Magic Keyboard, it delivers substantial functionality at a fraction of the price.

This Typecase keyboard case came in a quality box, which has a nice magnetic open and close function. The case itself fits onto the iPad 13 inch pro very nicely. It connects magnetically with the keyboard quick and securely. The Bluetooth pairing is simple to connect and it works well. The keyboard has really attractive backlighting, with a different color options to chose from. The keys have a good quality feel to them and they work very well. The trackpad has a nice form factor and gives a solid click when tapping it.
This transformed my iPad into a genuine laptop. The only thing holding it back now is the OS software on it, which is slowly improving. Battery life on the keyboard is good and it will have no problem lasting you a the day, between charges. One thing to note is the physical space for the usb-c cable when plugging in the iPad, it’s smaller than some of my usb-c cables. The included usb-c cable fits it just fine though. Overall this is an excellent keyboard case for this price point.

Works great with my m4 13" ipad pro. I hadn't previously considered getting a keyboard case like this because the name brand one is so exorbitantly expensive, so I was really happy to find this one. There are a few feature differences, but largely this one does what I need it to do. It connected easily, and it's been maintaining battery really well with very few charges needed.
The magnet strength is good, and the overall construction is a bit above average in comparison to other keyboard cases I've tried. I use my apple pencil all the time, so the pencil being able to charge while also being in the little protective sleeve is a big plus for me. The hinge feels sturdy, and both the keyboard and touchpad function exactly as advertised. I use multi-touch gestures all the time, so I was happy to see they work just as well on this.
As for the look, I think the color is really cute. It was nice to find a keyboard case that was actually pleasant too look at instead of just being nondescript. The keyboard's backlight is pretty bright even in daylight and it has quite a few options for colors/effects, though I personally keep the backlight off.
I do wish it charged the ipad, at least while the keyboard also being charged. Because it just connects via bluetooth, it doesn't offer magsafe charging. It's a little annoying, but not a major complaint since the charge lasts long enough that I don't have to usually have both plugged in at the same time. It's also a bit heavy. If you're used to keyboard cases, you'll probably find it to be a totally normal weight. But if you're like me and usually keep your cases minimal, the weight might be a bit of a shock. I only took off 1 star for those issues because I feel they're both common with this type of keyboard case.
MJ Mac
Magnet works very well, compatibility is really good. Once battery gets low, keyboard may lag and have some slight issues but nothing crazy. Very easy to connect. Would certainly buy again

This is pretty decent!
Fits my M4 13” iPad Pro perfectly - no magnet issues. Holds it pretty solidly.
There’s a magnetic “latch” / flap that seems slightly longer than it needs to be BUT if you have a Pencil attached / charging, it’s designed to keep the case closed while also keeping the pencil secure. Works great!
The keyboard’s keys have a decent amount of travel and resistance to them, so they aren’t terrible to type on. With the built-in LED lights it’s pretty easy to use day or night.
The track pad is a pretty good size, and works well for navigating around the screen and clicking on things. You can also use gestures and overall it gives a very laptop-like experience.
When closing the case, it will turn off the iPad, but the keyboard itself will remain powered down and lit until it falls asleep. This does not seem to impact the battery too badly.
My one and only real complaint is that I would kind of like the screen to tilt back slightly further if needed.
As is, this is a very functional iPad case and well worth the asking price.
K. Nelson
I like the snug fit for the iPad keeping it stable with very strong magnetic hold. Keys on the keyboard float as I type. It has many shortcut keys to make typing jobs easier. It has extremely easy Bluetooth connection by tapping the connect button. The backlit keys illuminate with one of 11 different colors and is easily activated. The built in trackpad is large and easy to use. I also like the convenient pencil holder to keep my electronic Pencil handy, easily accessible. It comes complete with charging cable. The cover has a magnetic closure allowing me to carry it and keep firm in the case. The case itself has a smooth, easy to wipe clean covering. Typing on this is a joy with the firm iPad hold, smooth floating keys and many shortcut keys. The only downside I see is the lack of angles holding the iPad—It’s stationary with one angle—but still well worth my purchase!

This is a review of the typecase Keyboard Case for 2024 M4 iPad Pro 13.
I just got a new 2024 M4 iPad Pro 13. Since I pretty much use tablets instead of a laptop, I like getting a keyboard case to go with it. Saying that, I was looking forward to getting this one and am happy to say I do like it.
This comes well-packaged and secured. The keyboard case itself is fairly hefty, but most of the ones like this tend to be. If you are looking for something super lightweight this is probably not for you.
I got this is a pretty lavender color and it really looks nice; it’s easy to spot if you place it somewhere. The keyboard is attached to the case which I prefer. The pad itself is held in place by strong magnets. I am not sure I would feel all this safe if this fell onto the floor but I think it would do okay. I have a thick cloth protective sheath to put this in if I am going to be carrying this outside.
Another big plus for me is that you can disable the trackpad. I personally don’t like them so if you are like me, it’s easy to turn it off.
Lastly, this was so easy to pair and the backlit colors are so bright. I find it easy to use to type and you can swivel the top of this case to hold the iPad at an angle which makes it easy to use to type on my lap.
Recommended. I have attached some photos so you’d a see what it looks like.
Walt
The product was delivered promptly and in excellent condition. It arrived in a durable, high-quality cardboard box that enhanced the unboxing experience. The keyboard itself features satisfying long key travel and vibrant backlighting that illuminates beautifully in dim environments. The snapping mechanism is impressively secure, allowing for effortless installation. It attaches seamlessly to the iPad and folds down with ease.
One notable drawback is the overall thickness of the case. Its bulky profile adds significant weight to the iPad, which might not suit everyone’s preferences. Personally, I’d prefer a thinner design, even if it meant sacrificing some sturdiness.
If not for the thickness, this product would certainly earn a five-star rating from me.
On the whole, it’s a fantastic option for those in need of an iPad keyboard. Yet, frequent travelers should consider the added heft before making their decision.
DDC
I ordered this keyboard case to use with my iPad Pro 13. I have two other keyboard cases, but I haven’t found one that perfectly suits my needs. One case I like fits around the iPad and swivels, but it’s heavy and difficult to remove, which isn’t ideal since I prefer to change my cases regularly.
This case attaches magnetically, which is both a plus and a downside for me. I appreciate the convenience of easily removing the case, but I’m concerned that the magnets might not be strong enough, and my iPad could fall and break. On the positive side, I can use this case in both landscape and portrait modes.
I also love the backlit keyboard and the ability to change the color. I was pleased that this case doesn’t have a built-in cutout for the pencil, as I rarely use mine. However, it does have a slot for the pencil.
The setup process was quick and easy. It also has a sleep/wake feature, which is convenient. The case comes in a nice blue color, and it feels well-made.
One thing I wish for is the ability to adjust how far back the case extends. Overall, I’m happy with this well-made case.
Daleeyy
This keyboard case is a fantastic addition to my iPad Pro 13 M4! The backlit keyboard is responsive, and the 11 color options make it fun to customize. The built-in trackpad is smooth and accurate, making navigation easy. The magnetic stand is sturdy and allows for multiple viewing angles, and the easy-set design makes setup effortless. I also love the dedicated Apple Pencil holder, which keeps everything organized. The premium feel and sleek blue color give it a stylish look, making it a great option for both work and leisure.
That said, the TypeCase isn’t powered by the tablet and requires a Bluetooth connection. While it functions well, having to charge it separately is a bit inconvenient. Additionally, there’s no clear power indicator, so it’s hard to tell how much battery is left. The case is also quite heavy (1.8 lbs), adding noticeable weight to the iPad.
Overall, despite the minor drawbacks, this is a stylish and highly functional keyboard case with great features. I’m giving this 5 stars because it offers the same functionality as the Apple keyboard case for a fraction of the price. If you don’t mind the extra weight and separate charging, it’s a solid choice for enhancing productivity!
Robert Stevens
This is my second iPad TypeCase and overall, I think they are a fantastic value. Because it uses magnetic adhesion, it gives you the ability to quickly swap the tablet to a stand or a case when you don’t need the full keyboard, and I can’t stress enough how convenient that is.
Unlike Apple’s Magic Keyboard, the TypeCase is not powered by the tablet and requires Bluetooth for its connection. While this works, it’s a real bummer to have to charge the case separately, and since there is not an obvious power indicator, it’s hard to tell how much power you have left before you need to charge.
However, the TypeCase does have one major thing in common with the Magic Keyboard, and that’s how top-heavy it is. You don’t have many adjustment angles and if you tilt it back just enough, and your palms are not actively weighing the keyboard down, the entire thing WILL tip over backwards. It’s more likely on the TypeCase because the base is very light and plastic. But for a third the price of the Magic Keyboard, I’m far more willing to put up with that flaw here.
Beyond all that, it has the same functionality, shortcuts, trackpad, and adds a lot of functionality, darn near turning an iPad into a functional laptop. Tremendous value.

Fits, works and looks great!

It works.

Not sure about battery life, haven’t put it to the test.
Shadow
First off, the fit and finish of this keyboard case is very impressive. It has a nice sleek carbon fiber look and magnetically aligns with my iPad Pro 13". The whole thing gives a sense of precision engineering and craftsmanship.
There is enough stiffness in the hinge to hold its position while being easy to adjust.
The key travel and overall feel of the keyboard is very nice. It does not feel like a cheap keyboard, and I suspect it will last for many years. The backlighting is nice and even and cycles through 12 different colors. There are several function keys to control the various settings, and they are above the top row of number keys. They work with the actions represented by the symbols without additionally selecting the fn key. There is no alternate F1, F2, F3, etc. designation on these keys, but I presume they will work as such keys when using in tandem with the fn key, but I don't know of any iPad apps that use those to verify this. Overall, though, it doesn't feel cramped, and there is no hesitation or lag when typing.
The trackpad area is a bit small but very responsive to gestures. It has more width than height, which takes a little adjustment. Being left-handed, I became accustomed to the superiority of Apple trackpads years ago and have low tolerance to the inferior ones I find on almost every other laptop. I would compare this trackpad to be a close second to an Apple trackpad and far better than any other trackpad I've ever used. Panning around and zooming in/out in Apple Maps is smooth and effortless with this trackpad, and using 3 finger swipes to get out of apps or two-finger swipes to navigate through different pages of apps feels very natural.
The case comes with a small manual that clearly explains the keyboard and trackpad options, including function key usage, gestures, and some settings in iPadOS to modify behavior. I found the manual concise and very easy to understand.
It's all not perfect, though.
The case connects via Bluetooth and doesn't offer pass-through charging, so you need a separate charging device or cable for it. I have a PD charging cable that shows wattage level, and I can see it charging at around 1W. I haven't run the battery down yet, so I don't have an idea of how long the charge lasts or how long it takes to charge fully. Luckily, my iPad Pro is extremely power-efficient and can last a few days on a single charge, so this isn't a big deal.
There is a limit to the hinge openings. The main hinge opens to almost (but not quite) 90 degrees max, and then the cantilevered hinge opens to around 45 degrees or so max. I don't own an Apple model to compare it to, but based on my demoing at a store, this seems to be very similar. Still, I would've liked for it to open wider, as a personal preference.
The trackpad has physical clicking and does not offer haptic feedback. So, clicking feels solid, but after using a haptic-enabled trackpad, I found myself missing those little haptic features and having to get used to the excessive downward motion of the trackpad to physically click.
The flap that the Apple Pencil fits into is a little awkward. It does magnetically secure to the back when the case is open, but I found a couple of times it didn't fully latch with the magnets and hung in the air behind the iPad. After a few tries, I got a feel for how to maneuver the flap so that it stays secured. The Apple Pencil can attach to the side of the iPad for charging while in the flap, which is nice, but you will have to adjust it to where the magnets are aligned properly.
In comparison to the Apple MK model for my iPad, I would've preferred to have a taller trackpad and a shorter row of function keys like the Apple one, but this is a little over 1/3 the price. And for that price, it's a winner.
nairajoseph
I don’t know if mine was defective but I ended up returning it because the iPad would not stick to the case. There was no magnet at all to that front to hold it so it was unusable as there is also no where to clip it on.
Update: I am updating my review as they reached out and graciously sent me another one, Which does work well and as it should! Thank you again for reaching out and fixing this!

This goes nicely with my tablet, very good quality too

The backlight keys should be brighter…….track pad response leaves a lot to be desired …….

great keyboard, some drawbacks slow to wake up from sleep connect, battery life is ok, weight is noticeable, but not as bad as the magic keyboard. But for the for price great option for M4 !
motionmonk
I recently got the new iPad Pro and wanted a protective case for it. I came across this Typecast Keyboard Case for the iPad Pro M4, and selected it since it had Carbon Fiber in the description.
The case comes well-packaged, and is nicely designed. The Power and Bluetooth buttons are next to each other at the top right of the keyboard, and there's 11 different colors and 3 brightness levels. The magnetic back grips my (heavy) 13 inch iPad Pro easily, and it feels secure. I really like the keyboard; the action is similar to a Mac laptop and the keys are responsive. The sticker for different functions is helpful, but it's poorly placed with tons of bubbles. This could have been applied much better than it was.
But... it is HEAVY. When I read "carbon fiber" I thought they meant it was made with carbon fiber--strong and light. This case is NOT light. Combined with the iPad Pro, it's nearly 2 pounds. And that's the issue for me... yes, I have a heavy iPad, but with the Typecast keyboard, I'm not that far away from pulling my MacBook Pro out instead.
If you want a solid keyboard case that you are NOT carrying around a lot, this is a nice product. If you need to be mobile throughout your day, do consider the weight.

Wonderful, sturdy option to protect my iPod. The keys have a good curved feel. Multiple short cut keys and the 11 color option with three levels of brightness is a wonderful feature. I am pleased with price, function and design.

I love my keyboard, easy, and perfect fit

This paired with my iPad M4 perfectly. It came well protected and was ready to go out of the box, but I went ahead and charged it overnight to be on the safe side. Pairing was very easy. and my iPad attached with the magnets securely. This is a very well engineered, well-made, keyboard, and case. All aspects seem high-quality and it has a great feel. When typing, it has a great haptic feedback and finding the keys seemed natural. Nothing seemed out of place and extended typing was no problem with no errors. I don’t really use it at night, but I did check the back light and illuminate everything perfectly where I wouldn’t have to struggle. The mouse pad works the pointer with no issues, and as I flipped through the programs testing the keyboard, there was no software issues that causes problems. When you take the consideration of the heavy magnets, the well engineered and manufactured characteristics, and it’s ease of use, this is definitely top-of-the-line option for your iPad. The battery last a long time, weeks on end regardless of daily use. I cannot think of any negatives I found in this easily earns five stars.

The Typecase Edge Keyboard Case is extremely competitive with the Apple Magic Keyboard for 1/3 the cost. It can transform iPad Pro 13” (M4) 2024 into a fully functional laptop-like experience. It offers premium features, sleek design, and seamless integration with iPadOS, making it perfect for work, travel, and creative projects.
The things I especially like with this solution are:
1) Excellent compatibility & Magnetic Attachment – Designed specifically for the iPad Pro 13” (M4) 2024, this case snaps on magnetically, providing a secure and sturdy connection. The cantilever action is not quite up to the level of the Apple Magic Keyboard, but it is very close.
2) 11-Color Backlit Keys & Adjustable Brightness – The backlit keyboard has 11 colors and 3 brightness levels. Whereas Apple’s keyboard has only one.
3) Smooth & Responsive Trackpad – The full-area trackpad makes navigating iPadOS effortless, bringing a MacBook-like experience to your iPad. It’s smooth, precise, and supports gestures for seamless multitasking. By far, this is the feature that I value the most. Very few solutions offer this kind of responsiveness. Super impressed with the trackpad.
4) Floating Cantilever Design – The floating hinge allows for easy angle adjustments. The magnetic clasp ensures your iPad stays securely in place.
5) Lightweight & Portable – Despite its premium build quality, this keyboard case remains relatively lightweight and compact.
6) iPadOS Shortcuts & Laptop-Style Transformation – The keyboard includes dedicated shortcuts for iPadOS, allowing you to switch between apps, control media, adjust brightness, and more with ease. The Globe key works as expected.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a premium keyboard case at 1/3 the cost of the Magic Keyboard from Apple. There are very few like it on the market.

I've had the Apple keyboard case, previously, and it is an engineering marvel. While I wouldn't call this case an engineering marvel, it is a very nice case, especially for 1/3 the price of the Apple case. Both cases, unfortunately, add appreciable weight to the iPad, but I don't see any way around this given that you are getting a full size keyboard. If I ever wear this case out, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again.

Was considering going for the name brand and I’m so glad I didn’t. This was on par and worth every penny spent!

After hours of trying to get the first keyboard working properly with my iPad (even calling the customer service) the track pad would not work at all on the keyboard. I sent it back to Amazon having a replacement sent in it's place. I was leery but thought I would try it one more time. The new one came in 2 days and it worked perfect! Synched right up and had no issues. It is very well made and feels stout which I like.

I got this keyboard case for my new iPad Pro 13” because it has the little flap that holds the pencil in place. So many of the others don’t and not all my pencils have that strong of a magnet. I hate losing them.
So, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this keyboard is exceptional in other areas also. It holds my tablet securely, yet it can be removed easily as well. The angle of the stand is just right for me to see my tablet. The keyboard is a good size for me and the keys fit my fingers well. I like the very responsive track pad that comes on as soon as you touch it, but don’t use it much as I am so used to the touch screen now that my brain does not look for a mouse. Once you pair the keyboard with Bluetooth, all you have to do to turn it on is touch a key. Very handy. I also like that the keyboard will stay lit while using.
The case itself is a bit heavy, but not cumbersome. The exterior carbon fiber fabric is nice to the touch and I hope it will withstand the cat walking on it.
My only issue with these type of cases is that you can only use your tablet in the horizontal position. I have some apps that only use vertical and have to remove my tablet to access them. Unfortunately this case does not allow your tablet to have a protective cover, so using it in vertical, leaves my tablet unprotected. I wish that these cases could hold the tablet both ways. But, overall, I am going to enjoy using this case.

… but the magnetism just wasn’t enough. In routine use, my iPad slipped away from the magnetic field, and landed on one of the keys, breaking the scissor mechanism.
I also had problems with the finish on Apple’s Magic Keyboard, because after about a week of routine use, the soft cover began to slip around, because whatever adhesive they used just didn’t work.

Like features .. dislike instructions on bottom left of keyboard. The writing is far too small to read so the instructions are useless and are in fact frustrating.

Great quality! Keyboard size is perfect, not to much weight, lightweight! The design is perfect, keyboard changes different colors or you can keep it one color! Totally moneys worth!

Ok so I’m kind of torn with this because I absolutely love the features of the keyboard and the adjustability of the stand. However my iPad has fallen off of this stand more than a few times and it’s given me anxiety!! The magnet isn’t strong enough to support the weight of the iPad, which is a bummer!
Increase the pull force!! On the next model.

My husband loves it.

This case/keyboard works great. It securely holds the IPAD and the lighted keypad works great.

My husband bought me the purple case for my ipad pro and we were expecting it to be brand new but received it used. The box it came in was damaged and dirty, the charging cord is dirty. He tried reaching out to get a replacement and he got no where and I unfortunately feel stuck with a used product and paying a brand new price. This is my reason for a 2 star review.
Update: I have changed my review to a 5 star as they were quick to respond and help me with my issue, they have amazing customer service and so helpful and nice. They replaced the item with a brand new one and it works amazing. It was literally delivered the following day that they sent it out. Very happy with the outcome and I do recommend ☺️.

The Typecase Keyboard Case for iPad Pro 13-inch (M4) 2024 is durable and well-built, with a sturdy integrated keyboard. It allows for an angled viewing experience, making it great for typing and productivity. The case offers solid protection for the iPad and is easy to set up and use. However, it is on the heavier side, which makes it less convenient for handheld tablet use. If you primarily use your iPad in laptop mode, this case is a great option!

Setup was quick and easy, functions are great, no notable lag from the keyboard and touchpad to screen. Solid feel and great value for the price.

Extremely functional. Executive level case.

I purchased this per reading several reviews. Overall, I think this is a great keyboard case. The keyboard feel is really nice–responsive, good size, comfortable to use. Battery life is very good. The lighted keyboard is helpful at night. The magnet holding the iPad is strong and secure.
I am not thrilled with the hinge design because it needs to hold its position more firmly. There is a little bit of spring to it, (unlike cases with a folding support behind the iPad that makes it firm). The flex sometimes makes it harder to get a good feel on the touch screen.
Super easy to connect. Overall, a good value and recommended.

Everything works great

Case has great magnet strength, Battery life is long, best price I’ve found compared to Apple!

This is my second iPad Pro 13" keyboard, and it's a significant improvement over my previous experience. My first keyboard required a cumbersome setup: the iPad needed to be placed in a separate case, which then magnetically attached to the keyboard base. This often involved adjustments to keep the iPad upright, and the overall setup was quite heavy.
This new keyboard case is a game-changer. The iPad simply magnetically attaches directly to the case, eliminating the need for an extra layer. The keyboard itself is remarkably light, sleek, and incredibly easy to type on. Pairing was seamless and immediate.
While lightweight, the case feels substantial and provides excellent protection for my iPad. It's the perfect balance of portability and durability. I'm particularly fond of the blue color – it's a deep, almost black shade with a subtle blue undertone, making it both stylish and professional.
Overall, this keyboard case is a fantastic product. It's beautiful, meets all my needs, and was incredibly easy to set up. I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase.

I love it. It is durable and is easy to use

Update: typecast sent me a free replacement, and they seem to have improved the trackpad design! This tracks my finger much better (though still not as precise as the MK). Top notch customer service as well.
I will be keeping the magic keyboard but this case is a great cheaper alternative.
Original Review: Man oh man did I want to like this. It is much more reasonably priced as compared with the magic keyboard, and i like the backlighting on the keys. Upon first opening the package I was really impressed by the seeming build quality and materials of the case. It fits the m4 ipad perfectly and has a nice matte finish. The hinge and magnets felt sturdy and strong respectively as well, though it is hard to know how long these will last. The keyboard works great and has nice travel. It does however occasionally space out and you'll lose a couple letters you typed. Not ideal.
The trackpad is unfortunately a disaster. It is usable, but it is nowhere near as precise as the real thing. It just has no ‘feel’. It has a fair amount of latency, and sometimes forgets your finger tracking for a second. It is far too clunky to use as a laptop replacement. Really only effective for occasional usage, it will annoy you if you try to use it too much, as everything is slow and awkward compared to a real trackpad or mouse. I ended up trying the MGK in store side by side with this and despite its hefty price tag, I think it is certainly worth the increased cost over this. Returning this for the real deal. Pair your expensive m4 ipad with an accessory in its league!
