This typecase Edge keyboard case is an amazing accessory for the new iPad Pro M4! The design is sleek and ultra-slim, yet it provides excellent protection for both the front and back of the device. The magnetic stand holds the iPad firmly in place and makes switching between portrait and landscape modes effortless — perfect for typing, drawing, or reading.
The keyboard itself is responsive and comfortable, with a smooth multi-touch trackpad that works beautifully with iPadOS gestures. The 11-color backlight adds a stylish touch and makes it easy to work in low light. I also love the Pencil holder, which keeps everything together and travel-friendly.
It feels like a high-end laptop setup but stays light and portable. Great quality, excellent features, and worth every penny if you use your iPad for work or school!

This is the best order I could have asked for it works great.
The Candid Critic
After my OEM Apple iPad Magic Keyboard failed (the space bar popped off and couldn’t be reattached), I switched to the TypeCase Edge and I’m glad I did.
The first thing I noticed was the balance point—it’s so much better than Apple’s version. The added weight actually makes it more stable, and it doesn’t feel like it’s going to tip over or send my iPad crashing down. With the Magic Keyboard, my iPad hit the floor more times than I can count. Luckily, this generation of iPad is tougher than any I’ve owned (and I’ve had them since the OG), but still—that instability was nerve-wracking.
The TypeCase Edge feels sturdier overall, with better protection and a more secure hold on the iPad. The keyboard is responsive and comfortable to type on, and while it isn’t as sleek as Apple’s, the trade-off in durability and practicality is absolutely worth it.
If you’re looking for a case/keyboard combo that prioritizes stability and protection without sacrificing usability, this is a smart choice.

This keyboard is the perfect addition to any iPad. This is my third and I still have the previous two and have had them for multiple years without any issues. It made my iPad my go to versus a regular laptop.

Lightweight, easy to adjust, strong different colors options is fun

Very well-built, and it has a good feel to it. The keystroke is smooth, and I am not disappointed at all that I didn't spend a fortune just to have an Apple equivalent.

Works great. Fits perfectly with my iPad. The magnets are really strong holding the iPad up. Sometimes it takes a while to sync up to the keyboard.

Typecase really is a brand you can rely on. I've ordered a number of their cases for office iPads, and I have yet to have an issue.
This case is a perfect fit, and the magnets are well placed and very strong. I never feel like the iPad is slipping or not held securely. The range of motion with the tilt is not huge, but truthfully I prefer that. I feel like those with a smaller range are more sturdy. They're not prone to flipping over.
The keyboard is nice and responsive with no lags. Battery life is excellent. Connectivity is a breeze. The backlighting is also vivid and extremely useful. Definitely recommend this one, especially when compared to the price of others on the market.

Really sturdy but a little heavy. Love the pen magnetic cover.

it’s good though but I was expecting the ipad will be magnetic charging if you plugged in a charger at the keyboard

“Made my iPad Pro feel like a full-on laptop!”
I’ve been using the Typecase Edge+ with my 2024 iPad Pro M4 and Apple Pencil Pro, and it’s honestly the perfect setup. The trackpad is smooth, the keys feel responsive, and the backlight makes it easy to work in low light. I love that the Apple Pencil docks right up top and stays secure. It’s sturdy without being bulky, and the multiple viewing angles make it super versatile whether I’m typing, drawing, or binge-watching. Total productivity booster!

This keyboard case for iPad 4 offers a nice tradeoff between functionality and value for the money. The keyboard communicates with the iPad using bluetooth and is charged using an independent USB port but provides a good support with a strong magnetic attachment that can be positioned in landscape or portrait mode, so it adds flexibility in use. The setup is easy and straightforward with no issues during pairing.
The keyboard is comfortable to use, with keys that aren’t cramped or too small. The travel distance is sufficient to provide good feedback, and the keyboard is backlit with a variety of colors and three intensity levels, making it easy to use in low light conditions. While the keyboard may take a moment to become fully responsive, once engaged, it continues working smoothly. The trackpad supports native gestures and features like tap to click, making the transition from a desktop work environment to a mobile iPad environment seamless.
The protective case included with the iPad is thin and won’t provide strong protection against drops. However, it can shield the iPad from scratches. Its primary purpose is to enhance the magnetic connection between the iPad and the support.
The materials appear to be of high quality and well-manufactured. The stand can be adjusted in different viewing angles, and has a space to provide storage for a pencil too. When not in use it folds in a compact and convenient as well as protective case although because of the cover finishing scratches and marks may be visible.
Wait What?
Better than I hoped. Nice gear.

High functionality and easy to use. The weight is a bit heavier than expected, but this will ensure the iPad doesn't tip over when placed in Portrait mode. In my opinion, it's a good value for the price and it even comes with a cover for the back side of the iPad which will protect it even more. Good quality and highly recommended.

I like the separate case for iPad protection. You do have to charge keyboard separately, not a big deal, just need to be aware.
Lexa
This keyboard case really surprised me in a good way. It feels solid and well made, and I like that it gives me multiple viewing angles instead of locking me into just one. The keys are nicely spaced and comfortable to type on, even during longer writing sessions. The touchpad works better than I expected, and I appreciate that it supports native gesture controls.
There are a few minor issues worth mentioning. The case is a little on the heavier side, and the flap sometimes gets in the way when it's open. I also wish it had a built-in charging feature from the iPad, since you have to charge it separately. Overall, though, it's a very capable case that does a great job turning the iPad into a more complete workstation.
Read this before you buy!
This is the second time I’ve gotten a case like this, and it’s been a solid upgrade. The magnetic connection is strong, the keyboard feels great to type on, and the trackpad works smoothly with all the iPad gestures.
I like how easy it is to detach the case when I want to switch to tablet mode. The backlight is a nice bonus, and the stand holds firm at different angles. It feels sturdy but still light enough to carry around.
It fits the M4 model perfectly, so just double check your version before ordering. For everyday work and casual use, this has been a great fit.
The Happy Lad
Got this to sport with the iPad Pro 13-inch (M4). The OEM keyboards go for over 2x the cost, and the quality of this keyboard and typing experience is impressive. The case can be detached from the keyboard and even rotated between landscape and portrait view, making this a nice addition when studying, taking notes, and drawing. The only caveats that I have observed are that the hinge is limited when adjusting and also that the keyboard case is a bit heavy at 1029 grams or 2.27 lbs. Keep in mind that this is almost twice the weight of the iPad itself. Overall, this is a pretty solid keyboard and case combo, especially for under $120.

Actually, about a year ago I reviewed an earlier incarnation of this kind of Typecase brand case. :)
Back then I needed said case for a (now, unfortunately, fully defunct (& unrepairable!)) iPad Pro 12.9" - whereas this one is for the 13 inch iPad that came out last year....
Well, this time too I am happy with the case; all appears to be working exactly like it should, and like I like.
Well, I do, once more, have slight reservations about the actual protection a case like this offers (plus: even *if* it protects the iPad well during, say, a fall - what happens to to functionality of the keyboard itself when you drop the whole shebang??) vs that provided by a quality "plain" iPad case....
But despite that I am, once again, going with 5 stars (would have preferred 4.5, but that's not an option) - 'cos this product *is*, overall, superb!

This case looks like a solid alternative to Apple's default keyboard case. It's visually appealing, and the keyboard is responsive. However, unlike Apple's case, it requires its own power source, which means you need to plug in a USB-C cable to charge it. There's a power button to turn it on. The colors are bright and vibrant, and the keyboard functions as it should. Every key has a satisfying press. On the downside, this case is extremely heavy. It feels much bulkier compared to Apple’s offering, weighing in at about twice as much. Despite its sleek appearance, once you attach it to the iPad, it can feel like you are carrying a brick. Overall, while it has many great features, the weight is something to consider before making a purchase.

This product is so easy to use and it connects perfectly to the iPad Pro as soon as you open it up. I haven’t had any issues with it randomly disconnecting like the keyboard cases I’ve had in the past. The keys are smooth and easy to type with, I haven’t noticed any delay or lag in the keys/trackpad either. It actually has a really stable base that keeps it still when typing. The case itself actually has some impressive protective qualities as well, especially with the double frame. The material is thick enough that you really don’t need to worry about accidental drops. For the price, it really has a lot going for it, especially if you need something more protective.

MAKE SURE THIS FITS YOUR IPAD. I have the A2378 - the skin just barely fits. It's serviceable but by no means a perfect fit. THAT’S ON ME for not verifying the compatibility first.
It's a nice keyboard and cover combination, but there are a couple of MINOR nits I have to pick:
1 - The opening angle is limited to about 60° - it's probably a balance thing, but sometimes I want to angle my screen back more and I can't.
2 - The keyboard is integral to the case - it can not be removed for use a little further away from the screen. However, the color selection is large and easily changed.
Customer service reached out to me to address my issues, and actually solved one of them, so I removed that ‘issue’ from my review and added a star.

Sleek design, decent protection, smooth typing:
This product has a very sleek design - it's relatively thin and has a cool black coloring. The thinner materials aren't fully shock absorbing, so it won't stand up too well in an industrial work environment, but the rigid materials do help to prevent scratches and damage from smaller bumps and drops effectively. The product retains a strong connection with the tablet and has a secure magnetic backing, keeping the tablet firmly in place and preventing it from sliding around while using or adjusting the cantilever backing. The keyboard is very smooth to type on and there's no latency or shakiness when typing. The trackpad is similarly responsive and feels like a laptop while using.
Overall, this is a good product and I would recommend.

I have been looking for a new keyboard/case for my current iPad so as soon as I saw this one I had to have it. I did take some time to go over everything and make sure that this was compatible with my particular iPad and after determining that it was I scooped it up. It came very well packed and secured and everything was perfectly as described in the ad even down to the measurements so everything fit like a glove as it should. Is definitely functions as intended and you can easily use the keyboard. The case is actually very thick durable and protective. I feel like it has plenty of chak resistant too in case you were to drop your ipad. I love how thick and durable this is as well as having all the little colors and being so nice! Very thick and very durable and very well made. This has a nice feel to it in your hands and I love the way the keyboard sounds when you are typing. Everything is definitely their quality wise. I do feel like they could lower the price a little bit just to help people out but it is worth it in quality alone and how well protective it is of my ipad. Definitely still a solid 10 out of 10. Checks every box I needed it to and I'm absolutely in love with how nice it is.

Love it!! Battery life is pretty dam good.

Better than expected… good quality.. thank you!

I tried the Magic Keyboard before purchasing this one. While the Magic Keyboard is sleek and well-built, I found the price a bit too high—especially since it only supports one fixed viewing angle.
This keyboard, although slightly heavier, offers a few advantages that make it a better fit for me. I can position my iPad both horizontally and vertically, which adds flexibility. The keys are a bit loud, and the trackpad is on the smaller side, but overall, it gets the job done. The typing experience even has a slight mechanical keyboard feel, which I enjoy.

What an amazing product highly recommend it is the best case.

I like that it’s a sturdy case. At first I thought the angle of the screen of my iPad was fixed on opening the case, but I quickly learned that it could be adjusted. I agree with other reviews that the magnetic closing flap frequently hangs in front of the iPad screen_ a pain, but not a deal breaker. I am training it not to do so. I wish the case had a more secure way to hold the Apple pin. I wonder if a redesign to put the flap of the side of the case (screen side or key board side) as well as the pen holder would be an improvement and at least do away with the flap overhanging the screen? I am confused by the keyboard lighting, i.e. how to keep it on. The lighting goes through s sequence of beautiful colors then just shuts off. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. I’m going to check YouTube for video instructions and explanations to answer my questions. I think my biggest disappointment is that this case isn’t charged by my iPad. I’ve got to attach 2 C-USB cords to charge both the iPad and the case. This is not a surprise. I new this before the order, but the features of the case overshadowed the need to use two charge cords. I like the keyboard. Nicely spaced keys. Although the case is a little heavy, it contributes to a feeling of solid structure and functionality. So far no issue with connectivity. I hope I can get the keys to stay lit up. We’ll see. So far, no regrets of having purchased the case.

__I use my iPad quite a lot for design and that in turn calls for needing to key data. Familiarity is most comfortable, so choosing a keyboard is a given for me because a physical keyboard is my preference
__The keyboard paired without issue and it is easy to engage with the press of a button
__I appreciate that the keys are backlit and may be changed to nearly a dozen different color options in three levels of light strength. I did expect an ombré option for those colors per the listing photo, but the color choices are indeed static and only one color across the entire keyboard. Still a nice option
__The key response is good and not flat feeling. They have an appealing amount of spring to them. I hope that makes sense
__The trackpad is responsive and I have had no issues with use of it or the functionality of any other aspect of the keyboard
__The magnets are strong and I have had no slippage of the iPad at all, yet I can remove the iPad easily enough when I choose to do so
__The only reason I am leaving four stars instead of five is the weight of the keyboard section. While the upper part (where the magnets are located for holding the iPad) is very weighted, the keyboard section is almost too lightweight to hold the weighty heft of the lid in addition to the iPad. I have had it to tip backwards more than once. That is on my desk, but it is super difficult to use on my lapdesk. I can maneuver it enough to use it but it is awkward. Just saying, the keyboard section should be more balanced with the lid portion. That would make the whole thing even heavier, but I am only voicing my opinion of an issue and not offering a fix. SMILES
__I do not know what the covering is made of but it is a flat finish in black which means it looks nice and sleek at a glance. However, it will show fingerprints if you have any hand lotion or oily residue, etc at all on your hands. I would prefer a textured finish but that is just a preference for me and not at all a negative towards the product. Just wanted to share that information for others to consider
__BOTTOM LINE: I have used this case every single day since it arrived and I have had zero issues with functionality other than the keyboard being lightweight. I would choose this again because I often use my iPad on a raised platform so the tilt of the screen doesn’t have to be as extreme.

This Typecase Edge Keyboard case is a fantastic accessory for my iPad Pro. The keyboard itself is a joy to type on, with responsive keys and a comfortable layout. The color backlight is a fun touch and makes typing in low-light conditions a breeze. The included trackpad is smooth and responsive, making navigation a breeze.
The case itself is slim and lightweight, adding minimal bulk to my iPad. It offers excellent protection while still allowing easy access to all ports and buttons. The magnetic attachment is strong and secure, ensuring the iPad stays firmly in place.

When I first , I was shocked by the quality of both the packaging and the keyboard case itself. I love the mult-color backlit keys and that you can change the color.
The outer case feels like it is made of very high quality leather. The IPad mounts to the case magnetically and there is a portable case that stays on the iPad that is designed to protect it when your IPad is removed from the keyboard case.
Cons: The case does not have pass through charging and does not charge the iPad in any way. You will be using two chargers. One to charge the USB C port, the other to charge your IPad. The other con is that the keyboard is a Bluetooth keyboard. IT does connect to the IPad through the contact port on the back of the IPad. Instead, you connect it through your IPad’s Bluetooth settings,
Other than those two very minor things, this keyboard case is utter perfection and a great keyboard for your IPad Pro 13” .Worth every penny.

This Typecase came in a quality box, which has a nice magnetic open and close function. The case it’s self fits onto the iPad 13 inch pro very nicely. It connects physically with the keyboard with ease. The Bluetooth pairing is simple to connect and it works well. The keyboard has really attractive backlighting, with a few different color options to chose from. The keys have a good, quality feel to them and they work well. The trackpad has a nice form factor and gives a solid click when tapping it.
This transformed my iPad into a genuine laptop. The only thing holding it back now is the OS software on it, which is slowly improving. Battery life on the keyboard is good and it will have no problem lasting you the day, between charges. One thing to note is the physical space for the usb-c cable when plugging in the iPad, it’s smaller than most of my usb-c cables. The included usb-c cable fits it perfectly. Overall this is an excellent keyboard case for this price point.

OH MY GOSH! This keyboard case set is AMAZING! Just got my new iPad and saw this case and I have been wanting to kick my desk top but loved the fact that I had a mouse and keyboard but now, with this set, I have been set free from the desk!
This set not only doubles as a protective case that fits like a glove, but has a track pad for so much stuff, I am still relearning the keyboard shortcuts you can use with this set!
The magnetic backing is so freakin’ handy, and the fact that the way the case sets up my ipad like regular computer monitor is fantastic!
The keyboard feel is super fast and is so responsive that I am still blown away!
The value of this set is so well worth the money, I can’t even list all the perks this set has and so much flexibility is incredible!
Connectivity is just off the charts, and I tend to connect via blue tooth which so fast and easy!
Love this case and keyboard!
This is a game changer with my iPad!
LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!

This is a beast of a case. It easily doubles, maybe triples?, the weight of my iPad. It comes with a thin plastic case that has some extra magnet power. It attaches the iPad magnetically to the stand case. It's solid. The keyboard is pleasant to use. I haven't had any issues with it. It's easy to remove the iPad from the stand for times I want something lighter or if I'm attaching the iPad to a music stand. It's way less expensive than Apple's version. It works. I like the track pad, and I like that I can use the iPad on the stand in portrait or landscape mode. I'll be leaving the stand at home when I'm out though because, as I said, it's heavy

The detachable magnetic keyboard is incredibly convenient, and the 11-color backlighting adds a premium touch, especially for working in low light.
The multi-touch trackpad is responsive and makes navigation seamless, turning my iPad into a functional laptop alternative. The keys are comfortable to type on, and the case itself feels durable and well-made.
This keyboard case is perfect for anyone looking to enhance their iPad’s functionality while maintaining a sleek, lightweight design. Highly recommended!
Alex
I love how slim this case is while offering no noticeable compromises. The form factor looks gorgeous by maintaining the aesthetics of the iPad while adding features and protection. The iPad attaches in both landscape and portrait orientation using magnets. The floating design looks great, saves space, and works in either orientation. The backlit keys have customizable color and they are easy to see in the dark.
The keys are great to type on with a responsive feel that I can type on quickly and accurately. The trackpad is smooth and responsive. This is a very impressive keyboard case.
